I will be teaching several classes at the New York Hilton in conjunction with Vogue Knitting Live.  The schedule is here.  You can sign up here as well.

Here are some photos of the project-based classes I am giving:

The Sawtooth Scarf from my Reversible Knits book is a great way to learn short rows.  I will be showing you how to knit backwards as well (optional).  It’s an easy class once you get the hang of the pattern, you can watch TV while you knit.

The Faux Entrelac Moebius based on projects in my book Modular Knits is an interesting way to knit from the center out in several colors.  It is an unusual entrelac technique (using simple unwrapped short rows) that does not require you to pick up any stitches or cut any yarn.

If you look at the photo below, you’ll see that there are 3 colors used.  However, the colors will show up both on the top and bottom of the center cast on because of the way the moebius is constructed.  I will be teaching you my long-tail moebius cast on, which you can view on youtube.

Because of popular demand, I am bringing back the Chevron Ruana class based on the project in my book Lacy Little Knits, which you can make using 4 skeins of Silk Rhapsody or 3 skeins of Silk Rhapsody Light (graduated version holding 2 strands).  This class teaches you multidirectional knitting and allows you to construct a very simple coat that starts out as 2 scarves, and is joined at the back.  We’ll make a mini-Ruana in class, then start the actual project.

If you’re interested in joining me on a completely new type of knitting adventure, the Diamond Lace Wrap, a 2-color Lace Shawl from the upcoming book One + One Scarves, Shawls and Wraps, is really a great class.  We’ll be using short row lace, in a completely new way to use 2 colors separately but in a continuous manner without cutting the yarn.  Here’s the photo from the book of this project:

I’ll bring along lots of samples and inspiration as well for those who are interested in cool ways to use Artyarns unique yarns.  And Sunday at 12:00PM I am signing books at the Knitter’s Mercantile booth.

Please join me if you can.

Iris
